Job Description

FPGA Engineer | Chicago, Austin or New York

What if the hardware you designed had an immediate, measurable impact on the performance of a global trading business?

I'm partnering with one of the world's most successful technology-driven market-making firms as they expand their FPGA engineering teams across the US.

This is an environment where every nanosecond matters. You'll design high-performance hardware that accelerates trading systems and network infrastructure, working directly with exceptional software engineers, infrastructure specialists and traders to solve problems that sit at the limits of modern computing.

Unlike heavily segmented semiconductor environments, this is a genuinely full-cycle FPGA role. Engineers own their work from the original idea through architecture, RTL design, simulation, verification, timing closure, hardware bring-up, integration and production deployment.

You'll have the freedom to research new low-latency techniques, evaluate the latest hardware platforms and build bespoke solutions when existing technology is not fast enough.

What they're looking for:

Strong FPGA design experience using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog

Experience owning projects across design, verification and validation

RTL synthesis, timing constraints and timing closure

Digital simulation and self-checking testbenches

Hardware bring-up, debugging and system integration

A problem-solving mindset and the ability to collaborate across hardware and software

Front-end ASIC experience is useful, but this is a 100% FPGA environment in the US, so candidates must have meaningful hands-on FPGA experience.

Why consider it?

Work on some of the most latency-sensitive hardware problems in the world

See your engineering directly influence business performance

Own complete systems rather than one narrow block

Work alongside some of the strongest engineers in the industry

Access cutting-edge hardware, platforms and laboratory facilities

Highly competitive compensation with substantial performance-based upside

Build and deploy solutions in weeks rather than waiting through multi-year product cycles

Openings are available in Chicago, Austin and New York.
