Senior Software Engineer - Java/JavaScript

Job Description Senior Software Engineer – Java and JavaScript | 6-Month Contract \n We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer for a 6-month contract focused on improving code quality, unit testing and CI/CD pipelines.

\n You’ll work with existing Java/JavaScript applications, refactoring code where required to make it testable and building the unit testing capability around it.

\n What you’ll be doing:

\n \n \n Develop and maintain Java and JavaScript code

\n \n Build unit tests and test harnesses

\n \n Refactor existing code to improve testability

\n \n Build or enhance CI/CD pipelines to incorporate automated unit testing

\n \n Work within established software engineering standards

\n \n Use GitHub Copilot to assist with unit-test generation and code refactoring

\n \n Use AI tooling within defined engineering and governance guidelines

\n \n What we’re looking for:

\n \n \n Strong Java and JavaScript development experience

\n \n Solid unit testing and test automation capability

\n \n Experience refactoring existing production code

\n \n CI/CD and pipeline experience

\n \n GitHub/GitHub Actions experience highly desirable

\n \n Comfortable using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools
