Utility Worker II (Water Distribution)

Utility Worker IIWe are seeking a Utility Worker II to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and wastewater systems. This role involves fieldwork, equipment operation, and on-call responsibilities in support of essential public infrastructure. Pay: $20.98 per hourKey Responsibilities:Install, locate, maintain, and repair water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, PRVs, and metersPerform routine servicing and corrective maintenance on water and wastewater systemsLocate and mark underground utilities using maps and toolsOperate dump trucks, hydro excavators, trenching equipment (Ditch Witch), and other heavy equipmentLoad/unload materials and dig/refill trenchesPerform routine inspections and cleaning of vehicles, tools, and equipmentMaintain grounds and facilities as neededFollow all safety procedures and project SOPsParticipate in on-call rotations and respond to call-ins as requiredBasic Qualifications:Valid New Mexico Driver's LicenseNew Mexico Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)High School Diploma or GED1–2 years of experience in the water utility fieldPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of water distribution system operations and maintenanceExperience operating heavy equipmentFamiliarity with hand and power toolsDigital literacy (CMMS systems, mobile devices, work management software)New Mexico Water Supply Level 1 or Water Distribution Level 1 certification (or ability to obtain within 2 years)Physical & Work Requirements:Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to lift, carry, and operate tools and equipmentWillingness to work on-call shifts and overtime as neededAfter Probationary Period:Union positionMedical, Dental, and Vision benefitsPTO accrualPaid holidaysClothing/boot allowance
