Staff Engineering Technician

The Staff Engineering Technician supports water and wastewater projects by preparing and modifying civil design drawings and technical deliverables. This role focuses on site drainage, grading, and utility plan development using Autodesk Civil 3D and works closely with engineers and designers to deliver accurate, high-quality project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify civil engineering drawings and deliverables under general supervision
• Prepare site grading, drainage, and utility plans using Civil 3D and related design tools
• Apply established engineering standards, codes, and company procedures
• Perform design calculations, material quantities, and basic estimates
• Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and quality compliance
• Coordinate with design teams and other disciplines to support project delivery
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians as needed
• Support field or project coordination activities when required

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil design or engineering technician roles
• Advanced Autodesk Civil 3D experience (pipe/pressure networks, grading, plan & profile)
• Strong knowledge of plan & profile drawings, alignments, and utility layouts
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Familiarity with engineering standards, construction practices, and quality procedures

Education

• Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field (preferred)
