About the Role

Role Purpose

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of RS America's employees, visitors, and associated property.  The Security Officer is tasked with patrolling the facility and surrounding grounds, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence 24/7.  Work under general supervision and reports to the Security Supervisor.  A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities

Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises

Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment and access points; permitting entry of authorized individuals and vehicles

Conduct full range of Mail Room operations and support

Provide excellent customer service

Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, correcting and reporting violators of policy and procedures

Control inbound and outbound traffic and direct drivers

Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities

Adhere to all company operating standards

Maintain organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements

Remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations

Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers

Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues

Candidate Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office software

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to follow complex instructions

Good interpersonal skills

Knowledge of Security Operations and Procedure

Able to manage multiple tasks

Knowledge of basic Security procedures and practices

Able to lift moderately heavy objects

Good surveillance skills

Good reporting skills

Good judgment

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Work Experience

Up to 2 years of previous law enforcement, security, or military experience desired
