Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Data Intensive Cloud Development EngineerAs our business growth continues we have an established need for data intensive cloud development. We need the aid of a highly motivated problem solver. An engineer who enjoys the challenge of resolving complex problems with innovative solutions. We desire an engineer with a proven track record of delivering high quality results. An individual who is a self-driver with the ability to work across multiple facets of a project while juggling multiple responsibilities seamlessly.This is a remote role.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Develop and maintain complex software systemAcquire extensive business and system knowledgeApply system knowledge to diagnose and fix complex problemsPerform requirements analysis, design, peer reviews and documentationProvide reliable estimates of effort and good identification of risksApply sound software engineering processes, including iterative development, unit testing, source code control, inspections and reviewsStay current with technology and industry best practicesKnowledge & Skills:Strong.NET/C# skillsStrong relational database skills including proficiency in SQL, stored procedures and database architecture (MSSQL 2008 or higher)Microsoft SQL skillsExposure to Azure DevOpsObject oriented programming principalsMust be self-directed, analytical, adept to problem solving, and have a strong attention to detailDemonstrated ability to produce quality products under tight and strict deadlinesGood spoken and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work both independently and within a team environmentEducation & Experience:7+ years developing software using the following:Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferredC#T-SQL (including complex queries, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers)ASP.NET MVCGit (or other Source Control Provider)Azure FunctionsExperience using Copilot (or another AI Agent) as part of the development lifecycle.Additional Preferred Experience:Experience with BMAD Agents for Greenfield and Brownfield development or other AI-assisted development toolsAJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, BootstrapExperience with Dependency Injection and IoC ContainersExperience with ORMs (Dapper, Entity Framework)Experience in insurance, healthcare, or risk managementPay Range:CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
