Job Summary
The Network and Computer Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure, servers, operating systems, and virtual environments. This role ensures the availability, integrity, security, and performance of network and computer systems while providing system administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and cybersecurity support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), data communication networks, and servers.
Administer physical and virtual server environments.
Monitor network and system performance.
Verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources.
Review system and application logs.
Monitor scheduled jobs and system backup processes.
Analyze network and server resource utilization.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Install, upgrade, and maintain operating systems and software.
Maintain software licensing and system updates.
Support network virtualization and emulation environments.
Assist with network planning, implementation, and coordination.
Troubleshoot network, server, operating system, and connectivity issues.
Support Active Directory and VMware environments.
Implement cybersecurity best practices and security compliance standards.
Maintain Linux and Windows Server environments.
Support cloud and enterprise infrastructure when required.
Requirements Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree with additional experience, or equivalent education/certifications.
Minimum 3 years of relevant network and systems administration experience.
Professional network or cybersecurity certification (CCNP, CCSP, SecurityX/CASP+, GSEC, GFACT, RHEL, or equivalent).
Experience with ACAS and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Experience with Linux operating systems and Windows Server.
Experience with VMware and Active Directory.
Ability to troubleshoot enterprise network environments.
Strong understanding of networking, server administration, and cybersecurity.
Experience with AWS, Azure, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform is preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
