Systems Engineer/Systems Modelling EngineerBolt Graphics is a semiconductor startup based in Sunnyvale, CA building the fastest and most efficient graphics processors. We pride ourselves on our first principles approach to solving problems. We are energized by our mission to reduce the barrier of entry for content creation and consumption. Our goal is to enable everyone to easily create, simulate and consume immersive experiences as vividly as they can imagine them. Our ValuesBe Fearless: Unmute yourself. Test boundaries and get proven right.Remain Adaptable: Stay comfortable in a continuously changing world. If you're wrong, concede and move on.Educate Your Ego: Selflessly collaborate towards our shared purpose.About the role:As a Systems Engineer/Systems Modelling Engineer, you will support the development of executable models, simulations, and analytical workflows that inform system behavior of our SoC/IP. This role is critical for the risk reduction and requirement-definition phase of the project. What you'll do:Understand and define ASIC system requirements based on product specifications and translate system-level requirements into block-level and circuit-level specsAnalyze micro-architecture trade-offs (NoC, caches, memory controllers, coherency fabrics) to optimize perf/power/area/fidelity.Work closely with product management, architecture, and SoC design teams to influence product definition, PPA targets, and roadmap decisionsSupport the development of executable models, simulations, and analytical workflows that inform system behaviorContribute to design documentation and methodology improvementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 10 years of experience in Model-Based Systems EngineeringExperienced in converting document-based to model-based architectureStrong understanding of CPU/GPU microarchitecture, memory hierarchy, and SoC interconnectsFamiliarity with analytical/simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink...)Programming experience in Python, Java, or JavaScript for model automation and analysisEffective communication skills to articulate architectural features and tradeoffs to design architecture and stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:Experience performing model driven design using Simulink and auto generated code defines input/output parameters and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystemFamiliarity with firmware, compilers, DV, and RTL design conceptsDemonstrated ability to model, simulate, and optimize performance, power, and areaPost-silicon performance correlation, root-cause gaps, and updating pre-silicon models to improve fidelityStrong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail to communicate clearly with stakeholdersCompensation Range: $180,000–$220,000 per year (California).
