SQL Server Database AdministratorLocation: Downtown Manhattan, NY 10004 (Onsite Position) Duration: 12 Months Contract PositionRequired Skills:5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database AdministratorBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experienceExpert knowledge in Windows Server, SQL Server, Azure cloud platform and specifically SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage account and Azure security fundamentalExperience implementing High availability (Always-on)Strong Knowledge of SQLKnowledge of Python is preferredStrong problem-solving skills with a focus on logical troubleshootingCertifications in Microsoft technologies are preferredResponsibilities:Database technical design, storage configuration, space management, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, troubleshootingDevelopment and maintenance of integrated databases and technical assistance in the design of new systems and/or modifications to existing systems including data modelingDatabase programming and the use of stored procedures, triggers, or similar development approachesMonitor performance and provide ongoing tuning of databasesInstall new database versions and upgradesSupport for development, test and production environmentsDevelop and maintain database administration procedures and operations to optimize database availabilityEvaluate and solicit feedback on processes to identify areas of improvement for optimizing transactionsAssist with impact analysis of changes to database objectsRequirements:Experience with entity-relationship diagrams and relational database development toolsExperience in Structured Analysis and Design techniques, data dictionaries, database schemas and database securityExperience in investigating, analyzing and modeling corporate data, including corporate databases, application systems and associated interfaces.
