Market Data Operations Analyst

Job Description

Job Purpose

This Group Is Responsible For The Management, Provisioning, Reporting, And Overall Usage Compliance Of Third-party Market Data Both Internally And Externally. Our Remit:

To provide a value-add service across ICE Data Services' multiple business lines.

To establish a proactive, forward-facing, service-oriented group with a clear understanding of the value of the corporate strategic assets ("the data") of which we are in effect the custodians.

To implement a series of clearly defined best practices across all business lines and all product lines to support our global business in a timely, efficient & compliant way.

To implement robust processes to support the sales cycle and the client on-boarding process while adhering to our core principals of source compliance & consistency.

Overview

The mandate of the Market Data Operations group is to provide a first-in-class management service with respect to the provisioning, reporting, and remittance of payment on behalf of our clients in compliance with our source obligations.

The Market Data Operations Analyst I is responsible for producing timely, accurate usage reporting to various Third-Party Market Data Suppliers; ensuring corresponding invoices are processed promptly and efficiently to enable timely payment to those suppliers; overseeing market data entitlement controls based on a broad array of Third-Party Market Data Supplier guidelines and policies; managing various projects and source-mandated change management processes; and assisting in the preparation and maintenance of usage analytics, market data trends, and other meaningful data aggregation that supports decision-making across the business.

The candidate should possess the following skills: team-oriented; self-motivated; able to work well independently; a strong sense of responsibility; strong communication and presentation skills; project management experience; strong analytical skills; the ability to achieve repeatable results; and the ability to process information quickly and develop a working understanding of Third-Party Market Data Supplier policies.

Responsibilities

Oversee and participate in the preparation and distribution of consistent, comprehensive usage reporting of ICE Data Services' client base to various Third-Party Market Data Suppliers on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.

Participate in initiatives to centralize and automate Third-Party Market Data Supplier reporting and expense data across multiple business units.

Validate invoices through reconciliation against both usage reporting and contractual obligations.

Collaborate with key market data and corporate systems stakeholders to streamline payment processes, with the goals of reducing payment cycles, maintaining go-forward efficiencies, and monitoring areas for continuous improvement.

Monitor trends for abnormalities, inconsistencies, and fluctuations that may require further research or investigation.

Collaborate with new and existing clients to facilitate and streamline the market data entitlement onboarding process.

Coordinate third-party source approvals and ensure compliance with supplier policies.

Consult with Third-Party Market Data Suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries regarding client entitlements, usage reporting, and billing.

Oversee and reconcile change management processes involving various elements of Market Data Operations and Compliance.

Manage special projects and tasks as assigned.

Knowledge And Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Working experience in project management, data analytics, or a similar function

A proactive approach to learning, problem identification, and problem resolution

Keen attention to detail

The ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Service-oriented toward both internal and external parties

Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skillsExperience with generative AI tools and structured prompt engineering considered a plus

Exposure to workflow automation or basic scripting (e.g., Python, SQL, Excel macros) considered a plus
