The ideal candidate will contribute to inference infrastructure for novel AI models, build resilient and distributed instrument control systems, and design intuitive user experiences.We are seeking a Software Engineer to work on unique and challenging problems across a broad spectrum of technologies, from instrument control to the cutting edge of machine learning. This role calls for a dynamic individual who is comfortable learning quickly and contributing high quality code across multiple technological stacks.Key Responsibilities:Craft high quality code in a variety of frameworks, including Flutter, Arduino, and/or PyTorch. Your work will span multiple domains, requiring innovative thinking and a versatile skill set.Evaluate and integrate new workflows in AI tools, including Claude Code. Think critically about the tradeoffs between token cost, development speed, and maintainability. Document best practices for AI-assisted development, and evangelize these techniques across teams.Design and execute processes that ensure software quality. Respond and troubleshoot to incidents in both our lab environment and at customer deployments.Collaboration: Work in close coordination with Mechanical, Electrical, and Biology teams to co-create solutions, demonstrating a strong ability to communicate across disciplines.Leadership and Communication: Provide regular updates to team members on project statuses and challenges, embodying transparency and proactive problem-solving.General Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to face unique challenges with persistence, creativity, and a positive attitude.Proven track record of delivering high-quality work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Strong independent working skills, with a capacity to take initiative and manage projects with minimal supervision.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration.Salary: $130,000 - $165,000 per year
