Role Description

Storage Maintenance Specialists is seeking a full-time Gate & Access Control Technician based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This role focuses on servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining:

• automatic gate systems
• access control systems
• keypads
• camera and DVR systems
• related facility equipment

Technicians work directly in the field at self‑storage properties and commercial facilities throughout the region.

Daily responsibilities include:

• diagnosing and repairing system issues
• performing preventive maintenance
• installing and replacing equipment
• documenting completed work
• communicating with dispatch and customers

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working independently, and building hands‑on field expertise in access control and automation systems.

Storage Maintenance Specialists is actively expanding into new markets, including Nashville.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates interested in:

Qualifications

• Experience with access control, low‑voltage, gate systems, security systems, or related technical field service work
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and manage field assignments
• Comfortable using mobile technology and service software
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Willingness to travel within the service region

Preferred Experience

• Automatic gate systems
• DoorKing, LiftMaster, PTI, or similar systems
• Camera and DVR systems
• Commercial service or facilities maintenance
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
