Job Description

Adjunct faculty are responsible for fostering a learning environment that supports students in achieving their academic goals, while delivering effective instruction and assessment in alignment with the provided syllabi. The Global Languages department is seeking a German adjunct to teach one elementary language class Fall 2026 on campus.

Experience

Previous teaching experience is required. College-level teaching experience preferred.

Education

Master’s or higher degree in German (other degrees in the Humanities or Social Sciences will be considered).

Essential Functions

  • Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s).
  • Demonstrate respectful, ethical, responsible behavior.
  • Abide by the University’s policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Perform employee responsibilities as detailed in employee handbooks and policies.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Other duties, including special projects, as required or assigned.

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Engage with students consistently in meaningful and constructive ways.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to creating an inclusive atmosphere that respects and values the backgrounds of our students and staff.
