Data ModelerWe are seeking a Data Modeler with deep expertise in Oracle database platforms and Erwin data modeling to design, govern, and evolve enterprise data models that support mission-critical business processes. This role is responsible for translating business and analytical requirements into robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and for ensuring those models are implemented consistently across our Oracle environments.Key ResponsibilitiesModeling & DesignDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade data models supporting critical business initiatives, analytics, and operational systemsDesign and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Erwin Data Modeler, ensuring alignment with business requirements and enterprise data standardsPerform reverse engineering of existing Oracle databases into Erwin to document and rationalize legacy data structuresEnsure data models adhere to normalization standards (3NF), data integrity, and referential integritySupport dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas) for data warehousing and analytics use casesSupport both OLTP and data warehouse/dimensional modeling efforts as neededDatabase Development & DeploymentDevelop and manage Oracle database schemas, including tables, views, indexes, partitioning strategies, and constraints derived from approved data modelsGenerate, review, and optimize DDL scripts for database objects (tables, views, indexes, constraints, partitions, etc.) to support forward engineering of physical models, and coordinate schema deployment with DBAs and other engineering teamsOptimize data structures for performance, scalability, and maintainability within Oracle, working closely with DBAs on indexing and partitioning strategiesAssist in database migrations, schema comparisons, and synchronization between environments (Dev/QA/Prod)Governance & StandardsEstablish and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and metadata management practices across projectsManage model versioning, subject areas, and complex model merges within Erwin's model management/mart environmentLead data governance and data quality initiatives to maintain a business glossary, data lineage, and metadata repository tied to the modelsFollow the organization's Data Governance Policy and Information Classification and Protection PolicyConduct data model reviews and impact assessments for proposed schema changes, ensuring referential integrity and minimizing downstream disruptionCollaboration & DocumentationCollaborate with data architects, DBAs, ETL developers, and stakeholders to gather complex business requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, normalized data models aligned with governance, performance, and integration standardsPartner with business analysts, data architects, application teams, and DBAs to translate requirements into scalable, normalized (and where appropriate, denormalized/dimensional) data structuresDocument data models thoroughly, producing data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and supporting artifacts for technical and business stakeholdersParticipate in design reviews and take guidance from the Data Architecture teamRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling, data architecture, or database design rolesExpert proficiency with Erwin Data Modeler (version 9.X or higher preferred)—including subject areas, model templates, DDL generation, forward/reverse engineering, model versioning, and complete compare functionalityAdvanced SQL skills and deep understanding of Oracle (11g/12c/19c/21c) including SQL, PL/SQL, schema design, and performance tuning fundamentals as they relate to data model designDemonstrated experience building both normalized (3NF) transactional models and dimensional models (star/snowflake) for reporting and analyticsStrong command of DDL—creating and modifying tables, indexes, constraints, sequences, synonyms, and materialized viewsSolid understanding of data modeling theory: entity-relationship modeling, normalization/denormalization, cardinality, keys, and referential integritySolid grasp of database internals: indexing strategies, partitioning, clustering, and query execution plansExperience with data modeling best practices: normalization, denormalization, surrogate keys, and slowly changing dimensions (SCD)Experience producing and maintaining data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage documentationFamiliarity with version control (e.G., Git) and model comparison/diff toolsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain modeling decisions to both technical and non-technical audiencesSelf-motivated, with the ability to multitaskWorks well in a team environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in a regulated industry (utilities, financial services, insurance, healthcare) with associated data governance and compliance requirementsFamiliarity with additional modeling or metadata tools (e.G., ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, Collibra, Alation)Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.G., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) and hybrid on-prem/cloud modeling scenariosWorking knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data integration patternsExperience supporting master data management (MDM) or data governance initiativesExperience working with
