Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Senior Software Engineer – IBORWe are growing our engineering team and looking for highly motivated engineers to make an impact at Wellington. This is a great opportunity for an engineer to build a career and learn about IBOR (Investor Book of Record).This position requires a high level of collaboration and interaction with our other technology partners across the department, and an ability to deliver in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, deploy, and support IBOR platform componentsBuild scalable, high-performance backend services using Java, Spring, and SpringBootCollaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutionsWork with PMs, Tech Leads, and QA on estimates, delivery, and risk managementAlign solutions with enterprise architecture and engineering standardsAI-Integrated DevelopmentUse AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot) to accelerate development and improve qualityApply AI across the SDLC:Code generation, refactoring, and optimizationTest development and automationDebugging and production issue resolutionDocumentation and knowledge captureIdentify opportunities to improve productivity through AI-assisted workflowsQualifications7 to 10+ years in systems development using Java and J2EE (currently working with Java 17; experience with version 11 will work)Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworksSolid understanding of multi-threaded applications and high-performance systemsExperience developing and deploying RESTful APIsExperience with WebSockets, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines (especially using Jenkins) is a strong plusDemonstrated use of GenAI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a business-critical production environmentStrong analysis, design, and modeling skillsKnowledge of software development and testing methodologies and their effective application; experience with JMeter is a plusBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldNot sure you meet 100% of our qualifications?
