Our worldwide team of 5500 people is dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.How will you make an impact?The Senior Test Technician reinforces our Quality Culture through rigorous product testing to ensure that Customers across the world receive the highest quality best performing products possible. They perform assembly, integration and final testing of components in our wafer based Dual Beam systems. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. This position also participates in continuous process improvement activities to maintain the highest standards for workplace safety and quality.What will you do?Perform testing using prescribed methods/work instructionsCollect test data then analyze data to make process decisionsPerforms wide variety of troubleshooting to identify problemsPerform machine set-up, calibration and preventative maintenanceRebuild manufacturing equipment when needed to ensure operabilityEducation:High school diploma or equivalent requiredA 2-year technical degree preferredExperience:At least 2 years of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience requiredBackground in precision mechanical assembly and low volume, complex manufacturing processes preferredPrevious experience using test equipment preferred (Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes)Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement a plusPrevious troubleshooting experience in a Clean Room environment is a plusExperience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to read detailed drawings and perform basic troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical assemblies at the component and system levelDemonstrated ability in successfully working in a Team of 8-10 colleaguesAbility to work in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPEAble to follow detailed work instructions then successfully complete assigned tasksAbility to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaborativelyAbility to support projects, perform training and work productively as part of cohesive teamsSelf-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skillsAbility to lift up to 35lbsStrong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgroundsAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our teammates extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
