Network Engineer

Sr Network EngineerLocation: Washington, DCType: Contract / OnsiteCompensation range: $100/hr (B2B) / up to $160,000/annual (W2)ResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level network engineering support, including advanced data and VoIP design, upgrades, troubleshooting, and Level 3 operational support for campus and wide area networks.Design and implement engineering solutions for Data, Voice, and Video services.Develop and execute business continuity and disaster recovery plans.Support day-to-day operations and resolve complex WAN, LAN, and Wireless issues.Monitor network and system performance proactively.Document network diagrams, device configurations, validation reports, and testing plans.Conduct performance and bandwidth utilization monitoring of WAN, LAN, and Wireless technologies.Participate in Requests for Proposals and Requests for Quotations reviews, evaluating reliable, cost-effective wide-area communication solutions.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements6+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex data networks.Extensive experience with Cisco routers and switches, Cisco IOS routing protocols (EIGRP, RIP, BGP, IBGP, OSPF), TCP/IP, IEEE 802.x Ethernet, IPSec, and Wireless networking.Expert knowledge of and extensive experience with Netflow and NMS systems.Senior-level troubleshooting skills for complex data networks.Experience configuring HSRP and supporting failover and redundancy.Knowledge of best practices and applicable security/information assurance policies.Experience with SDLC and system engineering technical support.Ability to work across teams, train staff, lead technical teams, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Public Trust clearance required.The following experience and certifications are strongly preferred:Expert knowledge of and extensive experience with Netflow and NMS.System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
