Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Description

Our client, a regulated manufacturing organization focused on medical device production, is seeking a Development Process Engineer to join their team. As a Development Process Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering organization supporting the Manufacturing Development and Process Improvement team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical problem-solving skills, a drive for continuous improvement, and the ability to communicate clearly across cross-functional partners—skills that will help you design, validate, and scale reliable manufacturing processes. Job Title: Development Process Engineer Location: Saint Paul, MN. Onsite Duration: 6 Months contract with possible extension Pay Range: $29/hr on w2 What's the Job? Lead the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment to support production and process improvements. Specify, acquire, and validate new equipment, ensuring readiness for production and alignment with quality and safety expectations. Use structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to identify process issues and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Design and execute experiments (DOE), analyze results, and present findings to cross-functional teams to drive measurable improvements. Create and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments, validation protocols, and safety instructions, while ensuring compliance with internal quality systems and external regulatory requirements. What's Needed? Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical, or related field) with 2–5+ years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis. Proficiency in technical writing and documentation to support SOPs, validation, and risk documentation. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, automation, and process control, with the ability to apply that knowledge to process development and improvement. What's in it for me?
