Facilities Maintenance TechnicianMedCare Pediatric is seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain our healthcare facility in Houston.This is a great opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting problems, making repairs, working with their hands, and taking pride in keeping a facility safe, clean, and well maintained.You'll perform a variety of general building maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks, with support from outside vendors and contractors when specialized work is required. Company vehicle provided for shuttle duties.What You'll DoPerform routine building maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeepTroubleshoot and repair doors, locks, hardware, fixtures, furniture, ceiling tiles, and other building componentsPerform painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, flooring, and general repair projectsPerform basic plumbing repairs and fixture replacementsPerform basic electrical repairs, including lights, switches, outlets, and fixturesComplete preventative maintenance and routine facility inspectionsReplace HVAC filters and perform basic HVAC maintenanceMaintain grounds, parking areas, and exterior areas of the facilityAssist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies when neededMaintain organized tools, equipment, and maintenance suppliesKeep maintenance records and communicate maintenance issues as neededCoordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairsOperate a company passenger shuttle van as needed; training will be providedFollow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environmentWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and comfortable solving problems independently.The ideal candidate:Has hands-on experience with general building or facilities maintenanceCan troubleshoot common maintenance problemsIs comfortable using hand and power toolsTakes pride in quality workmanshipCan work independently with minimal supervisionIs dependable and punctualIs professional and courteous with employees, visitors, vendors, and contractorsIs comfortable working indoors and outdoorsUnderstands the importance of working safely in a healthcare environmentRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDValid Texas driver's licenseAcceptable driving recordAbility to safely use hand and power toolsAbility to lift and move up to 75 lbs.Ability to work indoors and outdoorsAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningPreferred Experience3+ years of facilities, commercial building, apartment, hotel, hospital, property maintenance, or related experiencePainting and drywall repairBasic carpentry and wood repairBasic plumbingBasic electrical repairDoor, lock, and hardware repairFixture, furniture, and equipment installationPreventative maintenanceHVAC filter replacementGrounds maintenance and pressure washingGeneral commercial facility maintenanceYou do not need to be an expert in every trade. We're looking for a well-rounded maintenance professional who can handle common building repairs, troubleshoot problems, and recognize when a specialized contractor is needed.Schedule: Monday–Friday 10:30 AM–6:30 PM. No rotating schedule is required for this position.
