Full Stack Engineer

Job Description

Full Stack Engineer Location: Durham, NC. Remote every other week. No relocation candidates The Role This Principal Software Engineer role requires 5+ years of hands-on software development experience and is heavily focused on backend/API engineering. The engineer will design, develop, test, and support scalable Java web services, reusable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems supporting large-scale customer-facing digital platforms. The position is approximately 95% backend with no front-end work required; "full stack" refers to owning code through testing, deployment, and production support. Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and AWS is required. Experience with API design and Swagger, automated testing using REST Assured, JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test, and databases is important. DevOps experience is a major plus, particularly Jenkins, CI/CD, Maven, Docker, Ansible, Linux, and shell scripting. Experience with messaging/streaming technologies, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and supporting mission-critical production applications is also valuable. Must Have: 5+ years' experience (based on L3 status above) 95% backend/API Development Java Spring/Spring Boot AWS Do their own code, testing, and production Any DevOps experience is big plus (Jenkins, CI/CD, Docker, etc)
