Full-Stack / Systems Engineer

Job Description

Gambit Robotics builds robotic arms that cook. We combine frontier AI with RGB and thermal sensing to understand what is happening on the stove, decide what should happen next, and act. We’re building intelligent systems that operate reliably in one of the most dynamic environments in the home.

A hands-on role building the systems that move intelligence into the physical world.

Role Description

As a Principal Full-Stack / Systems Engineer, you’ll own the software architecture connecting our application, cloud services, device software, sensing, cooking intelligence, and robotic arms. This is a hands‑on individual‑contributor role at our robotics lab in New York City.

RESPONSABILITIES

Build the software layer that turns RGB, thermal, and audio inputs into cooking‑state understanding, decision logic, user guidance, and robot action. Own real‑time product loops across vision, voice, sensing, and robotic control. Make pragmatic cloud-versus‑device decisions and build the evaluation, logging, and debugging infrastructure that helps Gambit improve with real cooking data.

qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience with senior ownership of production systems spanning frontend, backend, infrastructure, data, and device or edge software. Strong judgment across latency, reliability, observability, privacy, and failure modes, with the ability to debug across applications, APIs, devices, models, sensors, and hardware behavior.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with robotics, consumer hardware, IoT, edge AI, computer vision, thermal sensing, voice, or multimodal systems is a plus.

compensation

Competitive salary and meaningful equity, commensurate with experience.

BENEFITS

  • Comprehensive health coverage, flexible time off, meals at the office, and the opportunity to work closely with a small team building a new category of robotics.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
