Cartwright Nor Cal (CNC) is a civil engineering and project management firm serving public agencies, private developers, and the construction industry since 2014. The company provides services such as site design, public utility design, drainage and grading design, storm water quality, and construction management. CNC focuses on delivering practical, high-quality solutions that support efficient, compliant, and sustainable projects. We collaborate closely with clients and project partners to guide projects from concept through construction.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Project Manager role based out of our Downtown Sacramento, office, at the Ice Blocks. The Project Manager oversees civil engineering and construction projects from planning through completion, coordinating schedules, budgets, deliverables, and stakeholder communication. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing project timelines, organizing resources, and ensuring design, utility, drainage, grading, and storm water quality work aligns with contract requirements and regulatory standards. The role involves reviewing plans and documentation, leading project meetings, tracking progress, identifying risks, and resolving issues to keep projects on schedule. The Project Manager also collaborates with engineers, contractors, and clients to maintain quality, safety, and performance throughout the construction process and provides leadership and direction to all team members.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Registered Professional Engineer in California with 2–5 years of experience managing projects, overseeing design staff, and maintaining schedules and budgets.

Experience managing civil infrastructure, land development, or construction projects, preferably with private development clients.

Proficiency with project management tools and basic office software; familiarity with construction documents and civil design plans.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with capacity to work collaboratively on-site and with diverse teams.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, LDD, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project, along with strong verbal and written communication skills is required.

Typical base salary range is $140,000 to $175,000 depending on demonstrated skills and experience. Additional yearly bonus paid each December.

Health, Dental, and Vision insurance with multiple HMO and PPO providers. Employee 100% paid and dependents 75% paid. Base plan is currently Kaiser Gold.

Retirement plan with dollar for dollar match up to 3% of salary.

15-days per year for vacation and sick leave.
