Machine Learning Engineer

Job Description

Join a team building production-grade machine learning solutions at massive scale. In this onsite role in Bellevue, WA, you will design, build, and deploy machine learning models and systems, with strong support for turning prototypes into reliable production experiences. You will also collaborate across the full end-to-end lifecycle, helping improve model performance over time while contributing to software reliability and operational excellence.

Compensation: USD 143,700 - 194,400 per year.

What you’ll do

Design, develop, and maintain ML data pipelines and feature engineering workflows

Design and implement software solutions across major components of your team’s systems, balancing functional requirements with scalability, performance, and security

Partner with Applied Scientists and Data Scientists to translate research prototypes into production systems

Monitor model performance in production and implement retraining strategies

Contribute across the software development lifecycle including product definition, scoping, design, code review, testing, deployment, and operational support, while supporting teammates in writing high-quality, maintainable code

Investigate operational issues, identify root causes , and drive permanent fixes to improve software reliability and operational processes

Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional peers to understand business context and deliver the right customer value

Evaluate new technical approaches and tools, including generative AI capabilities , and recommend adoption where they improve productivity and solution quality

Day in the life

Review design documentation for a feature you are leading, then support the team through code reviews with constructive feedback

Work with product partners to clarify requirements, then focus on writing and testing code

Investigate operational metrics, trace findings to root causes, and start implementing fixes

Mentor newer engineers and contribute to decisions that shape how your team’s software evolves

Requirements

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) for new and existing systems

1+ year of software development engineer or related occupational experience

1+ year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl

1+ year of Object Oriented Design experience

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Technologies
