AI Full-Stack Engineer Intern

Makeable is a San Francisco based company backed by Afore Capital. We are building software that turns a plain-language idea into compatible electronics, printable 3D geometry, code, and a clear build guide.

The role This is a paid, full-time, 12-week internship starting in November 2026. You will work directly with the founders on the software systems behind Makeable's prompt-to-physical-product workflow.

What you will do Build product features across a React and TypeScript web application and Python-backed services.

Experiment with text-to-CAD, parametric geometry, 3D generation, and checks that keep generated models printable.

Turn user prompts into structured AI outputs for supported components, wiring, firmware, and assembly steps.

Build compatibility-aware workflows that suggest only tested electronics from Makeable's component library.

Ship end-to-end improvements, evaluate failures, and test against real physical builds.

What we are looking for Strong full-stack fundamentals with React and TypeScript plus Python, FastAPI, or similar backend experience.

Hands-on work with AI model APIs, tool calling, structured generation, evaluation, or agent workflows.

A real project involving CAD, computational geometry, 3D graphics, text-to-3D, robotics, or physical hardware.

GitHub, technical projects, or shipped work that demonstrates independent execution.

Location and pay San Francisco is preferred, with a hybrid working setup. We may consider exceptional remote candidates based in the United States or Singapore. Relocation to San Francisco is welcomed, and visa support may be considered.

Pay is USD 19.61 to USD 20.20 per hour, based on 40 hours per week. Strong interns may be considered for a later full-time role, with compensation and equity discussed then.
