Role Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Avtal, you will design, develop, and maintain back-end services that power our integrated digital communications and payment portal platform. You will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver secure, scalable features. Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting production issues, optimizing system performance, implementing APIs, and contributing to architectural decisions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX, where you will work with cross‑functional teams to continuously improve our technology stack and development practices.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.

Hands‑on experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).

Proficiency in Back‑End Web Development, including building and maintaining RESTful APIs and working with databases (SQL/NoSQL).

Solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.

Familiarity with secure coding practices and performance optimization for high‑availability systems.

Ability to collaborate in a team environment, mentor less experienced engineers, and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
