Equipment Operator

Wood Resources is a provider of marine towing, ship mooring, dredging, as well as construction and landscaping materials.

Position Summary

Equipment Operators are responsible for the safe operation of equipment, i.e,. front-end loaders, excavators. Must be able to work in Algiers, Harahan, Waggaman, Donaldsonville and Hahnville.

• Operate excavator to move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction.
• Read and interpret blueprints or designs to understand the requirements of the job.
  

• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refuel equipment
• Complete daily equipment inspections
• Communicate with customers and employees
• Follow all company safety rules and regulations while performing duties

Job Requirements:

• Adhere to company attendance policy
• Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Must have reliable transportation to designated Wood Resources locations
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• 1-3 years of experience

Physical Requirements:

• Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of sitting (8+ hours)
• Moderate -High noise levels
