Construction Manager

We are currently recruiting CONSTRUCTION MANAGERS for our world-class Executive Program Management team based in Fort Worth, Texas, with job opportunities across at medium and large hub airports across the U.S. As part of our EPM team, you will help airports deliver development of new or renovated terminal facilities, both landside and airside.

As Construction Manager, you will provide integrated direction, management, and leadership in the construction arena such as construction logistics, Requests for Information review, change management, understanding of field conditions, value engineering opportunities, field dispute resolution, construction schedule review, interface management, safety, and quality standards for major aviation programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and integrate the activities of multiple, major construction projects. Ensure project efforts are cohesive, consistent, and effective in supporting the airport's ongoing operations.
  • Develop and establish policies and construction strategies for the program consistent with those of the airport organization to ensure efficient and effective implementation of major projects.
  • Participate in and oversees the preparation and managing of the construction management objectives and short- and long-range plans. Develop tracking and evaluation programs to assist in the accomplishment of established project goals and objectives as it relates to construction delivery.
  • Manage and administer a large, diverse team of professional/technical and support staff, both directly and through lower-level managers.
  • Manage the working relationships between project leadership, airport administration, contractors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Consult, coordinate, and serve as a liaison with contractors and airport officials on construction progress.
  • Collaborate with airport leadership and administration to establish programmatic scheduling goals and priorities for construction.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of airport policies and procedures as it relates to construction.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to the airport's strategic directions and plans, and relevant state-of-the-art systems and technology.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in the Aviation field.
  • An engineering or an Architect's license is a plus.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures in different construction phases.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Construction Management.
  • Knowledge of airport business practices and procedures as they relate to construction.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of current developments and trends in engineering/construction best practices.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully direct, coordinate, and strategically integrate and/or interface multiple projects.
  • Ability to effectively manage a large, diverse technical, professional support staff team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures for RFIs, Change Orders, Task Orders, and other construction notification documents.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, OSHA standards (OSHA 30 is required), FAA Technical Specifications, local safety requirements, and Airport/TSA security requirements.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance requirements.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

While performing this role, you must have ordinary ambulatory skills to move around the office and visit other locations. You should be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights (10-50 pounds). Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity are required for keyboard work and reading technical documentation. You will frequently sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and listen.
