As a member of the UVA Community Health team, individuals contribute to patient care decisions, support advanced medical technologies, and experience the satisfaction of making a difference in people's lives every day.Classification: ExemptSupervises Positions: YesThe Sr. Manager, System Facilities works across UVA Health Northern Virginia & Culpeper to develop and administer programs to all UVA Health Northern Virginia & Culpeper entities as assigned. This role reports to the Director, UVACH Facilities, and includes the physical appearance and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment of the hospitals and oversees all construction activities, serving as the primary liaison between the hospital and construction and engineering service providers. The Sr Manager, System Facilities develops policies and procedures for the efficient use of all resources and ensures that all UVA Health Northern Virginia & Culpeper entities conform to established standards and all regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role is responsible for the following:Oversees daily activities of the Facilities department for UVA Prince William Medical Center, UVA Haymarket Medical Center and Culpeper Medical CenterActs as Project Manager for Facilities capital projectsLeads and develops competencies for all Facilities personnelAssisting Director with maintenance contractsAnalysis: Analyzes processes and creates deliverables to provide information and recommendations for improvements.Breaks down problems and issues into sub-components and assesses the costs, benefits, and risks of various optionsIs able to select and recommend the best solution based on a thorough examination of all considerationsIs able to explain and justify actions in a systematic and logical fashionCommunication: Shares and receives information using clear oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skillsActively listens, provides constructive feedback, and demonstrates respect for differing viewsTailors communications to diverse audiencesQuality Improvement: Demonstrates involvement in the unit's annual and/or periodic assessment efforts, including efforts to improve the quality services.Understands the value of innovation and quality improvementImproves processes and practices by identifying inefficiencies and redundanciesDemonstrates efficiency and quality in one's own workCustomer Service: Builds relationships and maintains strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.Understands the importance of quality serviceIs able to adjust and adapt service delivery to diverse customer needs and sensitivitiesFrequently suggests and implements changes to improve the quality of serviceFinancial Management: Manages tasks and resources within the department to achieve quality and meet budget requirements.Ensures that financial and material resources are used effectively and efficientlyLeverages resources to maximize utility and return on investment (ROI)Implements measures to minimize theft, damage, or equipment breakdownThe incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.Education: Bachelor's degree required. 10 years of hospital facility management experience may be substitutedExperience: 5+ years management in hospital facilities engineering requiredLicensure: Valid VA Driver's LicenseAdditional Skills/Requirements Required :Demonstrated track record of collaboration and exceeding expectationsExperience managing facilities infrastructure projectsIn-depth knowledge of MEP system, life safety codes/requirementsContract negotiation skillsAbility to motivate and develop staffAdditional Skills/Requirements Preferred :Experience with The Joint Commission (TJC) surveys.Physical DemandsWork Function/Activity : Sedentary to Light Physical DemandThe job requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient in communication, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
