Service TechnicianThe Veolia Service Technician-II will install and service water purification systems at customer sites. In this role, you will deliver, set up, exchange, troubleshoot and maintain ion exchange tanks or membrane systems to customers in commercial and industrial applications.Responsibilities include:Driving truck to deliver ion exchange tanks and water treatment equipment to customer site.Ensuring that correct equipment required for the daily route is loaded, secured and meets quality specs. Load and unload tanks on truck and maintains correct inventory on board truck as required.Completing Vehicle Inspection Reports for pre-trip inspection.Keeping accurate accountability of inventory at each site and making changes as needed.Communicating changes through the proper channels and following up to ensure that changes have been made.Taking water samples and conducting the following tests including but not limited to TDS, resistivity, pH, CO2, Cl2, and hardness.Accurately recording results and making suggestions or changes as required.Operating and maintaining instrumentation and calibrations of analytical equipment.Rinsing ion exchange tanks and membrane systems to customer specifications at sites and ensuring quality specifications are met.Profiling membrane systems as part of the troubleshooting process.Performing membrane exchanges as required.Performing both dry and wet ion exchange tank exchanges.Performing maintenance and repairs on equipment to include plumbing, electrical/electronic diagnosis, pumps and motors, tank level controls, chemical dispensing equipment and UV systems.Can perform UHP system sanitations, and meter calibrations.PVC repair, electrical/electronic diagnosis, and pump and motor repairs or replacement.Maintaining good housekeeping at all times, which includes the vehicles and customer sites.Following Veolia WTS and customer EHS policies and rules.Maintaining contact with customer on site, communicating effectively, politely, and responding to their needs. Maintaining good customer relationships. Handling customer issues and inquiries.Assisting with equipment or product delivery outside normal scope when needed due to business levels.Training other employees on duties and responsibilities.May be required to be on call during non-business hours.Qualifications:HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years' water industry experience in ion exchange, water treatment, reverse osmosis, or membranes and related equipment, or in applicable fields such as electrical, industrial, mechanical, maintenance, or plumbing.Eligibility Requirements:Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record historyAbility and willingness to handle repetitive weight - 50 lbsAbility and willingness to work in all weather conditionsAbility and willingness to: read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and regulations; to write reports; to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measureAbility and willingness to work in a range of environments including but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilitiesDesired Characteristics:Associate's Degree in electrical, industrial / mechanical, engineering, or water treatment disciplinesKnowledge of commercial and industrial membrane systems and UV systems.Vocational training in applicable fields such as electrical, industrial/mechanical maintenance, water treatment, plumbingClass A License preferredKnowledge of PLC logic/programming.Knowledge of ion exchange and membrane theory and operation, as well as pretreatment applications.College coursework in chemistryExperience driving company vehicles such as panel vans or service trucksInitiativeCustomer FocusAccountabilityWorking Conditions:Typical working conditions include a wastewater treatment plant and outdoorsExposure to extreme weather conditions (extreme heat and cold)Potential exposure to burns, chemicals, dangerous systems, dirt and dust, electrical hazards, grease and oil, loud noises, vibrations, steam and high levels of moisture, and other hazardous conditionsPhysical requirements: lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds, climb a vertical ladder up to 30 feet, stand for long periods of time, walk on uneven surfaces, regular bending, climb onto and exit a forklift in a safe manner, use of extension ladders on a daily basis, ability to climb into and maneuver body in tight spacesAbility to work both day and night shifts as needed, with primary shift designation being 12-hour night shiftsSalary Range: $24.28 to $27 hourlyHours - Monday through Friday 6am to 2:30pmBonus Eligible: NoAs an inclusive company, Veolia is committed to diversity and gives equal consideration to all applications, without discrimination.
