Graduate Engineer- Electrical

We are currently seeking an entry level Graduate Engineer- Electrical with 0-2 years of experience to be part of our MEP Engineering team in the Austin, TX office.

The Graduate Electrical Engineer will serve as a designer on construction documents for electrical systems in a variety of markets including multifamily, commercial, high‑rise, hospitality, EV Fleet and more. The Graduate Electrical Engineer reports to the electrical team leader.

Responsibilities

Work with a team of engineers and designers to work from architectural plans and base files to assist in the production of quality engineering construction documents in Revit

Under limited supervision of Engineers and Project Engineers, design electrical systems including equipment sizing, energy lighting calculations and circuit diagrams for a variety of project types including high‑rise, multifamily, commercial and technology

Perform calculations such as electrical load analysis, lighting energy use, voltage drop, fault analysis, etc.

Provide reviews of submittals and preliminary reviews of requests for information

Independently conduct preliminary site investigations and construction progress site visits

Maintain working relationships with manufacturers and technical representatives for electrical equipment in support of equipment specifications and design support

Participate in internal production meetings with Engineers and Project Managers as well as external design meetings with clients or city officials as necessary

Participate in development of automation and visualization strategies

Inform Project Engineers, Team Leaders, and Project Managers of progress on assigned projects

Attend industry events and become involved in the community, creating relationships and content

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering

Engineer in Training (EIT) license obtained within first year in role

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in the field of new building mechanical engineering construction

Experience in Revit

Prior experience or knowledge of coding and/or machine learning technologies
