Candidates must be available to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week. We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Distributed Systems, Kafka, and REST APIs. The role focuses on building secure, scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services for digital banking platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable Java microservices and REST APIs.Build distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka.Develop reliable and high-performance backend services.Implement fault tolerance, resiliency, caching, and high-availability solutions.Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.Support CI/CD, automated testing, and production readiness.Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and operations teams.Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.Required Skills8+ years of software development experience.Strong Java and Spring Boot experience.Hands-on experience with Microservices and Distributed Systems.Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and integration patterns.Strong experience with Kafka / Kafka Streams.Experience with Spring Batch, JUnit, JDBC, Maven/Gradle.Experience with Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD.Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or NoSQL databases.Experience with Docker and cloud/platform environments.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Preferred SkillsExperience with GenAI, LLM, RAG, embeddings, or vector search.AWS and cloud-native architecture experience.Experience with Redis / Cassandra.Knowledge of MCP and AI guardrails.Banking, fintech, payment, or financial services experience.Experience with Python, Hadoop, or Spark.Core Technology StackLanguages & Frameworks: Java (JDK 17–25), Spring BootAPIs & Integration: REST / RPC APIsMessaging & Streaming: Kafka, Kafka StreamsDatabases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, CassandraDevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab, CI/CDContainers & Cloud: Docker, Cloud/Platform EnvironmentsArchitecture: Microservices, Distributed Systems, ResiliencyEngineering: Observability, Performance Optimization, Automated TestingFlexible work from home options available.Compensation: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
