Controller

Lane Search has partnered with a fast-growing DFW client to help fill a confidential Controller role. The position will own the accounting function including month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting support for the executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• - Manage the month-end close process, including general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and close checklist management
• - Prepare monthly financial statements and recurring management reports for leadership review
• - Analyze account activity and variances; help explain what is driving results and flag issues early
• - Support cash reporting, working capital visibility, and related financial processes
• - Assist with budgeting and forecasting support as needed
• - Maintain strong documentation, internal controls, and accounting process discipline
• - Improve recurring workflows, reporting templates, and close efficiency over time
• - Partner with leadership and cross-functional teammates on accounting questions, reporting needs, and process improvements
• - Coordinate with external accountants, banks, and other financial partners for audits, tax support, and recurring requests
• - Handle additional accounting priorities as the business requires

Qualifications

• - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
• - 8+ years of progressive accounting experience (Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar)
• - Public accounting experience preferred but not required
• - Strong experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and partnering directly with leadership
• - Strong Excel skills; ERP/accounting system experience preferred
• - Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
