Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Job Title: Network Communications Engineer II

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000

Overview We are seeking a skilled Network Communications Engineer II to join our team in a full-time, onsite role. This position is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and maintaining a secure and reliable network infrastructure. The engineer will work with firewalls, switches, and virtual appliances, while also assisting with network security administration and troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to contribute to a growing IT environment and take ownership of critical infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities Monitor system performance, generate reports, and perform troubleshooting and maintenance as needed

Administer and maintain network security measures to protect data and systems

Create and maintain accurate network documentation, including operational instructions

Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot VoIP phone and video endpoints

Collaborate with users to diagnose and resolve network communication issues

Design and implement LAN/WAN configurations and system integrations

Partner with systems analysts, programmers, and technicians to test and evaluate network solutions

Required Skills & Knowledge Proficiency in troubleshooting, switching, subnetting, VLANs, VoIP, and TCP/IP

Knowledge of syslog, ACLs, TACACS/Radius, PKI, and SNMP

Strong understanding of communications systems transmission, switching, and control

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving to complex network challenges

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, OR equivalent professional certifications

5+ years of experience in IT systems or network engineering

Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
