Endoscopy Technician

Job Description

Endoscopy TechnicianAssist physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures. Prepare patients for procedures as directed by the care team. Transport patients to and from procedure rooms as needed. Prepare endoscopy suites according to patient, physician, and procedure requirements. Assemble, test, and maintain properly functioning equipment, instruments, and supplies. Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopes, instruments, and equipment according to manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs) and Center policies. Perform between-case cleaning and daily terminal cleaning of procedure rooms and endoscopy suites. Practice appropriate aseptic technique and follow sterile processes required in the endoscopy setting. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and observe universal precautions at all times. Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of endoscopy supplies and equipment. Restock rooms and support cost-effective, efficient use of supplies. Support efficient room turnover to optimize patient flow. Promote patient and physician satisfaction through professionalism, communication, and teamwork. Proactively participate in Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement (QAPI), and Safety Programs. Communicate safety concerns promptly using the Chain of Command. Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the Center's Code of Conduct. Comply with all Center policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Document information legibly and accurately as required. Attend required education, in-services, staff meetings, and continuing education. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
