The Part-Time Driver is responsible for the safe and professional transport of shuttle buses from the ABC Companies facility to designated customer or operational locations for delivery. This position does not involve transporting passengers. The role requires strong working knowledge of DOT regulations and safe vehicle handling practices.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate shuttle buses from the ABC facility to assigned delivery locationsConduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT and company standardsEnsure all required documentation is completed accurately, including inspection reports and delivery confirmationsCommunicate proactively with dispatch and operations regarding route status, delays, or mechanical concernsMaintain compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulationsProtect company assets by operating equipment responsibly and reporting any issues immediatelyOther duties as assignedQualificationsValid driver licenseClean driving record meeting company insurability standardsAbility to pass pre-employment drug screeningHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredOn-Call Availability - This is a part-time position scheduled based on operational and delivery needs and may require flexibility, including early mornings or extended travel time depending on delivery assignments.SkillsProficient in operating and maneuvering shuttle buses safelyStrong knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirementsAbility to conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsMechanical awareness with the ability to identify and report vehicle defectsEffective route planning and navigation skillsStrong time management and reliability to meet delivery schedulesClear communication skills for coordination with dispatch and operationsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionHigh level of professionalism and accountability when representing ABC CompaniesSafety-focused mindset with strong risk recognition and decision-making skillsPhysical DemandsAbility to sit for extended periods of time (6+ hours per delivery assignment)Ability to safely enter and exit a shuttle bus multiple times per shiftAbility to climb stairs and access elevated driver compartmentsAbility to perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including bending, kneeling, crouching, and reachingSufficient vision (with or without correction), hearing, and depth perception to operate a commercial motor vehicle safelyThis job description is subject to change at any time.
