We are seeking an Engineer 1 to support a major utility initiative focused on reviewing and improving the accuracy of substation Single Line Diagrams.

This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in transmission substations, electrical engineering, and substation drawings who has strong attention to detail and can confidently identify discrepancies across multiple engineering and operational data sources.
Responsibilities:
Review transmission substation Single Line Diagrams for electrical and physical accuracy.
Compare SLDs against three-line diagrams, protection and control drawings, equipment records, engineering drawings, field markups, and other approved sources.
Verify connectivity and configuration of buses, transmission lines, transformers, breakers, disconnect switches, instrument transformers, and other substation equipment.
Review equipment names, device numbers, voltage levels, circuit connections, and ownership boundaries.
Identify discrepancies and document required corrections or additional field verification.
Coordinate with Substation Engineering, Protection & Controls, Operations, Planning, and Construction & Maintenance teams.
Track drawings through review, correction, approval, and document-control processes.
Support efforts to improve SLD quality, data accuracy, and engineering processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience with transmission or substation engineering.
Strong understanding of substation electrical configurations and equipment.
Experience reviewing engineering drawings, SLDs, schematics, or protection and control drawings.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies between multiple technical sources.
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and construction teams. xsgimln
Familiarity with utility standards, NERC requirements, and document-control practices is a plus.
