Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Northland is a privately held real estate private equity firm with core competencies in the acquisition, development, management, and long-term ownership of multifamily and mixed-use real estate throughout the United States.

About the Community:

High Oaks is a 460-unit apartment community in north Austin, TX. Residents have exclusive access to various amenities, including a fully equipped 24-hour fitness center, sparkling swimming pools, and a dog park.

About the Role:

Northland is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to complete maintenance service requests and work orders including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, pool maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping items. This role will also complete apartments turnovers for scheduled move-ins in a timely manner while working safely and efficiently.

Northland's maintenance team always maintains the highest level of professionalism and customer service when working with our residents, vendors, and guests. As part of our promise to deliver a top-tier experience to our residents, maintenance team members are required to handle after-hours emergency calls, and be on-call, as needed, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and vendors.

All maintenance employees are required to have their own hand tools to carry out job functions - other power tools will be provided.

Travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, or to attend training classes.

Must be able to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of the on-call responsibility.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time and climb, bend, and squat.

Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry weights up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.

May be required to operate a golf cart on the property.
