Our mission is rooted in journalistic integrity, cultural merit, and community service.Position SummaryThe Finance Manager has primary responsibility for serving as the main contact for the day-to-day accounting function for BPM including full-cycle accounting, financial statements preparation, audit/990 assistance and grant reporting. This position reports to our CFO and the CEO. This position oversees the AP/AR Specialist and works closely with other senior managers at BPM.Key ResponsibilitiesACH processing, bank account and credit card reconciliationsAccruals and other related journal entries associated with the month-end closeMaintenance of fixed asset schedules and monitoring of capital expenditures activityPreparation of reconciling schedules supporting the financial statementsCompilation of monthly financials and forecastsCreation and tracking of annual budgetsPreparation of board meeting materialsAssistance with personnel and business insuranceAnnual charitable registration and other corporate filings, regulator/grantor compliance reporting, and tracking of revenues and expenditures associated with grantsParticipation in year-end audit, regulatory and 990 filingsGenerating annual 1099 forms and 1096 reportQualificationsMinimum six years of directly applicable experienceFull-cycle accounting – A/R, A/P, balance sheet reconciliations, reports compilationSupervisory experience, including interfacing with various departments/functionsFoster a collaborative team spirit based on mutual respectAble to lead by example, delegate respectfully and make sound independent decisionsEducational Requirements:Bachelor's Degree – Accounting or FinanceCPA-track is a plusTechnical Requirements:Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and 365.
