Location: Fort Worth, TX (HQ)

Reports To: Design Engineer II / Head of Engineering Department

Position Summary

The Design Engineer I supports the development of firearms components and mechanical systems by assisting in CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and documentation .

This role is focused on execution and learning , with exposure to full product lifecycle development from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks

Assist in development of firearms components and assemblies

Support prototype builds, testing, and data collection

Generate basic engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation

Assist with tolerance stack-ups and fit/function analysis

Work with manufacturing to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective

Support troubleshooting of design and production issues

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Maintain organized engineering files and revision control

Qualifications

Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)

Basic understanding of:

Familiarity with GD&T (preferred but not required)

Strong willingness to learn and work in a hands‑on environment

Experience & Education

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)

0–3 years experience (internships count)

Success Profile

Coachable and detail‑oriented

Willing to be in the shop and on the floor
