At Venus, we're looking for bold engineers and innovators who want to make history and redefine the future of propulsion.The Role: Network Administrator As a Network Administrator at Venus Aerospace, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the enterprise network infrastructure that powers our engineering, manufacturing, and business operations. Working closely with other IT professionals, you will help ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the organization's network environment across multiple locations. This role is focused on maintaining a resilient and scalable network infrastructure that enables the business to operate efficiently. You will administer and troubleshoot critical network infrastructure, implement approved network changes, and support configuration management and monitoring solutions that keep the business connected. Success in this position requires strong technical fundamentals, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where network availability and security are essential.If you're motivated by solving complex networking challenges, collaborating with a high-performing IT team, and supporting the infrastructure behind next-generation aerospace technology, you'll thrive in this role.What You'll Get To DoConfigure and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 network technologies, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networksDesign, install, and maintain structured cabling systems, network racks, and physical network infrastructureImplement approved network changes and infrastructure improvements while independently managing smaller networking projectsMaintain centralized network configuration management systems and ensure configuration consistency across network devicesMonitor network health, performance, and availability using monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve issuesTroubleshoot complex network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues across enterprise environmentsCollaborate with systems, security, and IT teams to maintain reliable, secure, and high-performing network servicesDevelop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, configuration standards, and operational proceduresLeverage automation and configuration management tools to streamline network administration and improve operational efficiency.Provide advanced support for network-related issues while serving as an escalation resource for the IT team when neededPerform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management activities to ensure a secure and reliable network environmentWhat You Have3-5+ years of experience in network administrationExperience administering enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networksStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, dynamic routing, network segmentation, and Zero Trust networking principlesExperience supporting multi-site network environments and maintaining high network availabilityFamiliarity with centralized network configuration management, monitoring, and alerting platformsExperience creating and maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational proceduresStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teamsNetwork+, Security+, CCNA, or equivalent industry certification preferredWhat Will Set You ApartExperience supporting hybrid or cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience participating in network architecture, design, or infrastructure modernization initiativesExperience with advanced routing technologies and complex multi-site network environmentsExperience implementing network segmentation, secure remote access, or Zero Trust networking architecturesExperience supporting engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or productionLocation: On-site in Houston, TXBenefits: Venus Aerospace employee benefits include a 401(k) plan, stock options, and medical benefits, including dental and vision.
