Job Description

IT Systems Engineer II Or IIICrane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer II or III (level will depend on experience) at our Lynnwood, WA or Burbank, CA location. This is an on-site position.As an IT Systems Engineer (Compute) you will design, develop, support, and maintain our compute infrastructure both on-prem and in the cloud. You will implement and design both hardware and software solutions; make updates to system related installation documentation, and provide escalated support for issues relating to the compute infrastructure.Essential Functions:Responsible for the patching and management of data center and cloud technologies including VMware, Nutanix, Azure, and Oracle OCIEnsure uptime of critical business systems and infrastructure through monitoring and timely remediation of infrastructure issuesDeploy and manage virtual machines both on-prem and in the cloudProvide troubleshooting and recommendations for improvements on existing and new systemsPreserves data assets and ensures back-up procedures meet or exceed our policiesHelp to implement and provide support for disaster recovery of key systemsAssist other teams with IT initiativesIdentifies issues, evaluates trends, and anticipates requirementsEnsures adherence to all regulatory compliance processes and requirements, including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley, DFARS, ITAR and like regulationsSupport the monitoring, alerting and automation infrastructure for critical business systems and infrastructureMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societiesProvides documentation and training to other team members and IT teamsAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementMinimum Qualifications:Experience:Level II: 2-4+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in a medium to high volume environment.Level III: 4-7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in a medium to high volume environment.Experience in managing and maintaining hypervisor technologies including Nutanix and VMware; Experience in managing and maintaining backup appliances, storage arrays, and server blade systems; Experience deploying and automating virtual machines both on-prem and in cloud infrastructureKnowledge:Understanding of current cloud and on-prem compute technologies, hypervisors, networking, storage, and backupsProficient in supporting and maintaining compute environments to meet best practicesSkills/Abilities:Strong problem solving; Ability to complete job requirements within time constraintsAbility to train new employees to support systems as required; Ability to work effectively in an individual or team environment with occasional directionEducation/Certification:BS degree in computer-oriented technical discipline or equivalent experienceEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered.
