This role blends full stack web application engineering with hands on AI and machine learning development. You will build the systems that serve federal employees and retirees, and the AI capabilities that make those systems smarter over time.

This position is funded through September 30, 2027, with continuation anticipated but not guaranteed.

Core Technologies

Frontend: React, Vue.js, or equivalent JavaScript framework

Backend: ASP.NET Core Web API, TypeScript, Java (Spring Framework)

Integrate with enterprise systems via SOAP and REST APIs

Optimize database performance with SQL Server and Entity Framework Core

Design AI agents and LLM powered applications that automate retirement data workflows

Build and maintain ML models for classification, prediction, and anomaly detection

Integrate LLMs into production using prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic frameworks

Develop data pipelines for large scale structured and unstructured data

Apply explainable AI practices suited to a regulated, auditable environment

Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and release planning

What You Bring

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field (required)

5+ years of software engineering experience

Expert proficiency in one or more core languages and frameworks

Strong SQL Server skills; familiarity with EF Core

Hands on experience building or deploying LLM based solutions

Familiarity with agentic AI patterns, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and embeddings

Experience leading major initiatives or solving complex architecture challenges is a plus

Requirements

US Citizenship

Must report onsite to one of the client offices in Macon, GA, Washington, DC, or Kansas City, KS

Must complete a federal background investigation, which includes a conversation with your current supervisor

Who Thrives Here

The strongest candidates can reason about a React component and a retrieval pipeline in the same conversation. They read systems before rewriting them, evaluate models critically, and know that in a mission critical system, reliability, security, and explainability matter as much as capability.
