Surestaff is immediately hiring Machine Operators for a food packaging company in Montgomery, IL. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated and semi-automated production equipment to create and manufacture finished lunchmeats. This position is in a cold environment - temperatures at or below 40 degrees.

Positions are temp-to-hire. Available shirts and pay rates below:

• 1st Shift - 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday
• 2nd Shift - 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM or 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Monday - Friday
• 3rd Shift - 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Monday - Friday
• Pay rates between $20-$21 depending on department and shift.

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:

• Prepare machine for production utilizing proper implementation procedures.
• Requires understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
• Reads job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
• Performs required quality testing on products produced.
• Observes machine operation to detect piece defects or machine malfunction. Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
• Position will entail standing for long periods of the day and lifting up to 50 pounds during shift.

Required Qualifications of the Machine Operator:

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, packaging, assembling, and/or machine operating.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed.
• Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Willing to work in temperatures of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.
• Position requires lifting up to 60lbs and standing throughout shift.
