Mid-Level Frontend JavaScript Software Engineer (Hybrid)X-Bow Systems is expanding and looking to fill a hybrid position for a Mid-Level Frontend JavaScript Software Engineer.As an employee at X-Bow, you will serve a critical role in helping us execute advanced technology projects and programs for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), other government agencies, commercial customers and internal R&D initiatives. We are seeking a talented and motivated Frontend JavaScript Software Engineer (Mid-Level) to join our development team. You'll be responsible for building responsive, scalable, and maintainable web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks. You should have a solid foundation in frontend development principles, care deeply about user experience, and be comfortable collaborating with designers, backend engineers, and product stakeholders. As a key member of a small, dynamic, and highly skilled team, you will be expected to actively collaborate with others as well as work independently to accomplish assignments and responsibilities successfully.This position is located in Luling TX and classified as hybrid.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain user-facing features with clean, well-documented JavaScript (ES6+)Translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality codeEnsure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designsBuild reusable code and libraries for future useOptimize applications for maximum speed and scalabilityWork closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless functionalityParticipate in code reviews and contribute to best practicesDebug and resolve performance and usability issuesCollaborate with QA engineers to write testable code and verify application behaviorStay current with emerging frontend technologies and propose their adoption where appropriateQualifications3–5 years of professional experience in frontend developmentStrong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ syntax and best practicesExperience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web designProficiency in one or more frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or AngularExperience with version control systems, especially GitUnderstanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling (e.g., fetch, axios)Familiarity with frontend build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or similar.Ability to write unit and integration tests using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, or CypressComfortable working in agile teams using tools like Jira, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelinesMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearanceMust be a US Persons as defined by § 120.62 of the ITARSoft SkillsStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesProactive mindset with a willingness to take ownershipPassion for clean, maintainable, and testable codeProblem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirementsX-Bow Launch Systems, Inc.
