Job Summary

The maintenance technician provides technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment. Maintains assigned equipment, provides training to peers as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment and intervene for repairs as necessary
  • Utilize all manner of hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed
  • Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required
  • Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance lead, supervisor, or training department
  • Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects
  • Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback to supervisor about cost reduction, quality improvement and yield control
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

Required

  • MUST have a minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience
  • MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties
  • MUST know how to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints
  • MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components
  • MUST have knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages
  • Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed
  • Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits
  • Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards
  • Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position
  • MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift
  • MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Welding or similar fields
  • Previous experience working with VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drive)
  • Welding experience
