Role Description The Construction Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in West Chester, PA, responsible for overseeing daily field operations on commercial construction projects. This position coordinates and supervises subcontractors, manages site logistics, and monitors work quality to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and building codes. The superintendent enforces safety standards, conducts regular site inspections, and addresses issues promptly to maintain a safe working environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling and sequencing work, tracking progress against milestones, managing on-site documentation, and communicating with project managers, owners, and design professionals. The role also involves assisting with cost control, resolving field conflicts, supporting punch list completion, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications
Strong construction site management skills, including coordination of trades, site logistics, and quality control.
Demonstrated expertise in construction safety practices, OSHA compliance, and proactive risk mitigation.
Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage schedules, documentation, and multiple concurrent activities.
Experience with budgeting and cost control, including tracking labor, materials, and change orders.
Proven project management abilities, including planning, sequencing work, and meeting deadlines.
Relevant experience as a construction superintendent on commercial projects; prior work in specialized or detail-heavy projects is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Proficiency with construction management software, digital plans, and basic office applications.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is preferred. xsgimln
