Software EngineerPayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in San Jose, CAJob Duties: Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems and solutions. Build and implement RESTful services, focusing on scalability and reliability. Optimize system performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and rapidly iterate. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to testing goals and principles. Contribute to code reviews and design discussions. Apply expertise in cloud platforms, databases, large-scale, high-performance systems, and with ORM tools. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.Special Skill Requirements:Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (1 year)Experience building scalable and secure RESTful APIs with Java Spring Boot Programming (1 year)Experience with microservices and distributed system architecture (1 year)Experience with establishing automation, CI/CD pipelines, and release management using various systems and Jenkins scripting (1 year)Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, MongoDB, Redis caching with fallback mechanisms, and Hibernate/JPA optimistic locking (1 year)Experience with serverless event-driven architectures with auto-scaling, deploying, and managing applications on Cloud AWS (1 year)Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (1 year)Experience with comprehensive testing strategies including unit testing with JUnit and Mockito (1 year)Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Datadog, CloudWatch, and ELK stack for centralized logging and proactive performance monitoring (1 year)Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications :EOE, including disability/vets.The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring.
