Data Scientist

Innovien is supporting the growth of an AI and data science program at a leading health system in the Greater Philadelphia area. We're hiring a Data Scientist to take loosely defined problems, like "we need a chatbot on our internal site," and research, architect, and own the solution from first conversation to production. This is a new seat on a small, funded team focused on improving patient care!

What You'll Do

Turn ambiguous requests from clinical, operational, and business leaders into defined technical solutions, leading discovery when the problem isn't clear yet

Build and deploy generative AI applications, including LLM chatbots, NLP pipelines, call recording analysis, and patient journey models on Azure, Azure OpenAI Service, and Microsoft Fabric

Work across structured and unstructured data, including clinician voice notes, text, and documents

Own the full model lifecycle: feature engineering, training, API integration, deployment, and monitoring

Explain your work to engineers and executives alike, including what went wrong and how you solved it

What You Bring

Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field

Data science experience beyond the classroom (industry roles, internships, or applied projects) building and deploying models on real data

Hands on work with unstructured data (text, audio, or documents) alongside structured data

Advanced Python, including building and consuming APIs to put models into operational workflows

Experience with Azure and Microsoft Fabric for data engineering, training, and deployment, including cloud MLOps

Generative AI experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, or Azure OpenAI Service in a production or near production setting

Nice to Have

Experience in healthcare, clinical operations, or another regulated environment

Working knowledge of EHR data, claims data, or patient facing systems

Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite, with train and bus access at the building

Direct hire, full time
