Remote Full Stack EngineerAn established strategy consulting firm is looking for a remote full stack engineer to join the team behind its geospatial intelligence platform for telecom network analytics. The platform has been in production for over a decade (Java, React, PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and is now being rebuilt into an AI-first system with interactive analytics, richer reporting, and next-generation fiber network design at national scale.Responsibilities:Build features across the front end, backend services, and geospatial data stores that support automated network design and national-scale data explorationImprove algorithms for fiber network planning, including geospatial analysis, routing, clustering, and cost modelingRefactor the architecture to separate core domain logic from IO and orchestration so it can be reused across workflowsPrototype AI-assisted analysis and agentic workflows that help users interrogate network designs and financial outcomesBuild reporting outputs that combine maps, charts, tables, and engineering or financial narratives into shareable analysesTake work from proof of concept through production, with tests, observability, and performance tuning along the wayRequirements:5+ years of full stack engineering, ideally on data-intensive, geospatial, analytics, or infrastructure planning platformsAdvanced JavaScript/TypeScript with deep React experienceStrong backend engineering in Java, Node.js, or Python, with the ability to design APIs and domain modelsExperience with PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and spatial data or large-scale data processingComfort with graph and network theory, routing, optimization, and computational geometrySolid architecture instincts around modularity and composable system designNice to have: telecom or fiber network planning background, experience with mapping libraries like D3.js, deck.gl, or Mapbox, exposure to LLM or agentic development workflows, and cloud/container experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.Comp and logistics: $120-180K annually or $60-100/hour, contract.
