Driver

Operates a hospital vehicle, providing transportation within a 35-mile radius for employees, patients, and visitors to locations such as the hospital, airport, valet lots, and St. Jude parking facilities. This position may serve as a courier to move patient samples from housing to campus and deliver medication and equipment inside of 35-mile radius. This position also picks up hospital mail from the main post office for daily delivery to the Mail Center and handles pick-ups for various hospital services, returning items to the appropriate departments.

Job Responsibilities

• Use hospital vehicle/ shuttle to provide transportation service for employees, patients and visitors between the hospital and St. Jude parking lots and the St. Jude sponsored lodging facilities.
• Assist in performing preventive maintenance checks (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, gas oil, interiors).
• Assist passengers entering/exiting the vehicle as required including baggage supplies; Regularly cleans the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
• Contribute to overall team effort by handling customer complaints in a positive manner, escape as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Minimum Experience

• 1+ years of professional driving experience.
• Some experience operating a 15-passenger van, preferred; Must have a valid driver's license from the employee’s state of residence and be insurable by St. Jude’s insurance carrier.
• Some experience in the safe and efficient operation of appropriate size vehicle.
• Knowledge of state and local laws governing the operation of a motor vehicle.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only

• (LC: DLF-TN or DLF-ARK or DLF-MISS) Must have or obtain a valid driver's license with "F", "P" or equivalent endorsement from the employee’s state of residence within the probationary period (90 days of hire date) and be insurable by St. Jude’s insurance carrier.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $19.50 - $28.50 per hour for the role of Driver.
